Before sharing your details or paying, take a few minutes to check the provider. These simple checks avoid most disappointments.
Real contact details
A serious provider tells you how to reach them: a number, an email address, response hours. Be wary of a site with no way to get in touch other than an anonymous form.
Simple test: send a precise question before ordering, for example about your TV’s compatibility. A clear, quick answer is a good sign.
Written, accessible terms
Look on the site for:
- the terms of use;
- the refund and cancellation policy;
- the privacy policy;
- the details of what is and is not included in each plan.
If these pages do not exist or remain vague, you will have nothing to rely on if something goes wrong.
Promises you can check
Be careful with:
- absolute guarantees of availability or quality;
- customer reviews that are all perfect, with no date or detail;
- countdowns or “last places” designed to rush your decision.
A reliable provider explains instead what depends on them and what depends on your setup.
Payment under control
- Have the exact amount and duration confirmed before paying.
- Check whether there is an automatic renewal.
- Never send a bank code or password by message.
Lawful use
Only use a service whose access to content is authorised, and follow the rules that apply in your country. If you have doubts about the content offered, ask the provider where the broadcasting rights come from: an evasive answer is a warning sign.
